Homes4NC was established to promote safe, decent and affordable housing for all North Carolinians. We do this by raising funds and channeling these funds into grants and other resources that help low- and middle-income families with their housing needs.
Matching Grants Program Our main funding program is a matching grants program where we partner with local REALTOR associations to match the funding they are providing in their community. Since our inception in 2004, we have made matching grants totaling more than $256,000 to 58 housing organizations across the state. When you consider that local REALTOR associations provided matching funds, NC REALTORS have had a direct impact of more than $500,000 in seven years!
Competitve Grants Coming in 2012 Starting the second quarter of 2012, we will begin offering competitive grants that do not require matching funds from a local REALTOR association. Instead, 70 percent of member contributions will be set aside for competitive grants in the communities where the contributions came from. More information will be available soon on this new grant program.
Eligibility To be eligible for funding, organizations must be based in North Carolina with a 501(c)(3) status or be a public agency. The purpose of the grant must be aligned with our mission, which is to provide safe, decent and affordable housing (both permanent and temporary), to provide emergency housing assistance and to provide education on housing issues.
Get Started The first step in the grant process is partnering with your local REALTOR association. Once a commitment has been secured from the local association, then the grant application will be completed jointly by the organization and local REALTOR association and submitted to Homes4NC.
Homes4NC will consider grant applications in the first and fourth quarters of 2012 (March 31 and Dec.31). Typically, grant awards will be made within 45 days after the close of the grant cycle. |
